This guide describes basic steps for configuration of peer to peer communication between 2N® Helios IP intercom and IP phone Gigaset Maxwell 10. There is also a possibility to register both these devices to the IP PBX (SIP proxy server) and use internal dialling plan for calling between each other but it is not described in this FAQ. Gigaset Maxwell 10 is IP video phone with 10.1 touch screen, integrated Wi-Fi and supporting many different features, audio codecs and video codecs.

1. How to set 2N® Helios IP intercom?

Settings of 2N® Helios IP intercom is very easy. First of all create a new user and assign him a phone number – we will make SIP direct call (peer-to-peer call) to Maxwell 10 in our scenario. Therefore the number is set in the format: sip:IP_address (or sip:x@IP_address). See the picture below for more information. In the Gigaset Maxwell 10 case, you have to put real number instead of x. This number will be used later in the Gigaset configuration.

In the next step we will modify the settings of Video codecs (section "Services – Phone – Video"). You can set the highest possible resolution (VGA for videocalls) and also modify the bitrate and framerate parameters if needed. Consider the bandwidth consumption during the settings.

Next step for 2N® HeliosIP check whenever you want to receive calls automatically or manually (for example: in case of keypad version).

If you want to use live preview during ringing, then go to the Services - HTTP API and set up the Camera API to Unsecure (TCP) and the AUTHENTICATION to None.

2. How to set Gigaset Maxwell 10?

After IP address setting, (in case you don't have DHCP server in your network, use touchscreen menu: Settings->Ethernet ->Ethernet configuration or Wi-Fi configuration), you can access via web interface for configuration. Default password for configuration is "admin".

Go to the Telephony settings- and edit the first VoIP connection available - as we are using peer-to-peer connection, we have to register on 2N® HeliosIP. Here you have to use the same number as we have set in previous step, in our case was 200.

Then click on Advanced setting -> Show. And put Domain, Proxy server address and registration server the IP address of your 2N® HeliosIP.

In the last step for feature of live preview and for lock control on the Gigaset Maxwell 10 is necessary to set up an intercom in the section: Services - Door Interphone:

Name - fill any name of the intercom you would like to see on the screen

SIP ID - ID/number of the intercom

DTMF code - to use the Key icon on the screen during a call, fill the code with star symbol (default value 00*).

Camera URLhttp://X.X.X.X/enu/cameraXxY.jpg (instead of X.X.X.X fill IP address of intercom, and XxY is the resolution of camera): In our case would be  http://192.168.50.100/enu/camera1280x960.jpg (supported resolutions are:1280x960(HD),640x480(VGA), 352x288(CIF),  320x240(QVGA),176x144(QCIF)).

Click on Add and Save configuration.
