Just imagine that you have door´s lock connected to one of relays in 2N® IP intercom and also door magnetic contact and departure button are connected to inputs of terminal block on card reader (there are two inputs in card reader – IN1 and IN2) or I/O module (in case of 2N® IP Verso). If you press the departure button which is placed inside the building or room (2N® IP Intercom is outside), then doors will be unlocked and magnetic contact will be cut off. In this case is everything fine, door is open and you can leave the building. If the magnetic contact is cut off but the door is not opened from 2N® IP (nobody pressed the departure button or inserted the card to RFID reader) then it probably means that somebody breaks the door. This unauthorized access to the building will trigger an alarm!

All necessary steps for settings of this feature are shown in the figures below. You will have to configure two switches, automation and you will also have to use card reader or I/O module because of its their inputs.

The settings above mean that if 2N® IP Intercom detects logical change in the input of card reader (IN1) or I/O module then the Switch 2 is activated. As you know from the picture above this Switch 2 does not control any relay but it simply sends http command to itself. This is specified as a next event – once HTTP command with the name "switch" is received then it activates the first switch. This switch (based on the settings above) controls the output relay 1 where is lock connected and doors will be opened. There is also specified that you have to close the door till 15 seconds (door magnetic contact has to be connected again during this time). If you do not close the door during this time, then alarm will be triggered! This is correct behavior of 2N® IP Intercom in this scenario - building is protected against breaking the door and also against the event when the door is open for a long period. But what will happen if you do not use departure button to open the door or you will not close the door during 15 seconds?
As mentioned before there was set specific delay (15 seconds) that starts to count down after the first event occurred. This event is used in next condition (FlipFlop RS) where is specified that the first event (http trigger) set this condition into the “met” state and the fifth event (Delay) set the condition into the "not met" state. In next step "Logical Not" condition is used and it defines the condition to be met in case another defined condition is not met (in our example it means that there will be no HTTP command received - as specified in Event ID 1). This "Logical Not" condition is used in the last action which will play predefined user sound if there is logical change in the input IN2 (second input on the card reader, resp. I/O module). Door magnetic contact is connected to this input so if somebody breaks the door, this contact will be cut off and it will trigger an alarm automatically.
